Hello Phone
A toy phone to play together: a painted wooden phone on a knitted blanket, with soft-toy friends to call.
Ages 1½–3½ · iPhone and iPad
Pretend play, with nothing to get wrong
Your child plays at hello and bye-bye, hears the animals and presses the keys. Every key answers a touch. There is no score.
From ring to bye-bye
The phone cannot hear: it has no microphone. The friend says hello, then waits quietly so your child can answer.
Touch a friend, or dial a number and press green.
The bell rings. The friend says “Hello!” and then waits.
Touch the three things in the friend's place. Each one moves, and the friend says its name.
The call ends only when your child presses red: “Bye-bye!”
For grown-ups
Best played together
Under two, always together. A few minutes at a time is plenty at this age.
A toy phone is for talking
The friends say little, so that you and your child can say more.
Settings behind a sum
Sounds, ringing, how long a friend waits, and which parts are on the phone. The app never ends a call: you decide when to stop.
Say goodnight
The phone says “Night-night!” and stays dim and quiet until you wake it.
No camera, no microphone
No ads. No accounts. No tracking. No camera. No microphone. Nothing about your child leaves the device, and nothing a child can touch leads out of the app.
